“This was my first professional photoshoot and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Skyler took the lead and helped guide my husband and I to feel confident and relaxed to capture the best pictures. I love them!” – Dara

Dara and Jamil’s courthouse elopement at Lincoln County Courthouse in Lincolnton, NC was the perfect mix of simple, meaningful, and beautiful. Whether you’re planning something spontaneous or just prefer an intimate setting, this day proves that courthouse weddings can be every bit as special as a traditional wedding.
A Modern Courthouse with Beautiful Light

The Lincoln County Courthouse is surprisingly modern. It’s only a few years old and beautifully maintained. The architecture feels clean, open, and perfect for natural-light photos. The real highlight? The staff. They were so kind, helpful, and made Dara and Jamil’s day feel special from the very beginning.

We photographed throughout the courthouse. First, we started in the hallway with soft, directional light. Then we moved into the ceremony room for the official “I do,” and finished outside with golden hour portraits.
What Makes a Courthouse Elopement So Great?

There’s something really refreshing about courthouse elopements. They remove the pressure of a full wedding day. Instead, the focus shifts back to the couple, their connection, and their commitment.
If you’re considering eloping at the Lincoln County Courthouse (or anywhere in North Carolina), here’s what I loved most about this one:
✔️ The staff was incredibly accommodating and kind
✔️ The lighting in the building was beautiful for portraits
✔️ The setting was quiet, clean, and modern
✔️ The couple had a calm, joyful energy all day
Whether you’re going for simple and timeless or want to elope before a bigger celebration later, courthouse weddings can be meaningful, romantic, and easy to plan.
