Downtown Vibes, Personal Touches

When your love story includes late nights, shared rooftops, and favorite hidden spots. You bring it all into your engagement session as a Durham NC Engagement Photographer, I know all about it.
For Emma and William, Durham wasn’t just a pretty backdrop—it was the setting of their real life. We started at American Tobacco Campus, explored their personal rooftop, hit the Lucky Strike tower, and ended at a cozy local bar for celebratory drinks and candid film shots.

Starting in the Heart of the City
We kicked things off among the brick walls and winding paths of the American Tobacco Campus. It’s got that industrial-meets-historic charm that feels distinctly Durham. The perfect way to ease into the session with natural movement and easy laughs.

Golden Hour on the Rooftop

Next: their rooftop. The sun hit just right as we caught golden-hour silhouettes and snuck in a few portraits with the Bull Durham sign glowing behind them. I photographed this on film and digital, I just love the verity.

Bar Hangs + Casual Candid Magic

To wrap, we dropped into a neighborhood bar. Think cozy lighting, clinking glasses, and low-key joy.
Why Film + Digital Just Works

Mixing formats gave this session heart and texture. Film added softness and mood. Digital gave us speed and clarity. Together? A dynamic, nostalgic feel that reflects both the excitement and calm of this chapter in their story.

Engagements should feel like an experience, not a photoshoot. If you’re looking for photos that reflect who you are, where you are, and what your love actually feels like—I’d be honored to help you tell that story. Inqure here.
