Sometimes the universe does a little rearranging just to get the right people in the room. Katherine and Kelly’s Wilmington wedding had everything: joy, love, and that extra bit of sparkle you cannot plan for.
In less than four months, this incredible team transformed an empty private lot on the Intracoastal into a wedding space full of heart. It was part of the same neighborhood where Katherine grew up, only a few houses down from her childhood home. Because of that connection, the day felt layered with nostalgia and meaning.
Through a twist of fate, I joined the team for their day, and I am so glad I did. The energy, warmth, and sense of connection made this wedding unforgettable. A Coastal Wedding Full of Personality
Kelly and Katherine wanted their celebration to feel casual, cozy, and full of laughter. With help from ACE & Co. Events, they built a space that reflected exactly who they are: creative, laid-back, and full of heart.
We leaned into their love for bohemian design, nature, and the coast. As a result, the design mixed soft neutrals, textured florals, and organic elements that blended beautifully with the setting. The atmosphere felt relaxed yet refined, and every detail came together seamlessly.
As the evening light softened, guests gathered under string lights, and laughter drifted across the water. The breeze off the Intracoastal added movement to every moment, making the entire day feel alive. Then the perfect ending arrived, a Wilmington sunset painted in soft pinks and warm golds that stretched across the sky.
