We met up for a Raleigh engagement session on a perfectly cool, crisp day at the North Carolina Museum of Art and spent the afternoon moving slowly through the exhibits. Nothing felt rushed or forced. We let the space set the pace and focused on moments that felt natural and unpolished in the best way.

Rachel and Marlon came in thinking they might not feel natural in front of the camera, and then immediately proved themselves wrong. There was so much ease between them. So much connection. The kind that shows up when you stop trying to perform and just exist together.

This Raleigh engagement session felt calm and intentional from beginning to end. We wandered, talked, paused when something caught our eye, and let moments unfold naturally. Nothing felt overproduced. Nothing felt stiff. Just honest, comfortable, really beautiful energy.

These images feel especially meaningful to me. Not because they are flashy, but because they feel true. That kind of honesty always translates on camera.
Rachel and Marlon were connected to me by their planner, Megan of Hosea House Collective, whom I absolutely adore and trust completely. When a planner who knows your work sends couples your way, it always feels extra special. Megan has an incredible eye for people, pacing, and intentional experiences, and this session was such a perfect reflection of that.
I cannot wait for Rachel and Marlon’s wedding later this year and to continue telling their story in a way that feels just as thoughtful and real.

Planning a Raleigh Engagement Session That Feels Natural

If you are worried about feeling awkward in front of the camera, you are not alone. Most couples tell me that at the start.
My approach is simple. I guide you gently, give you space, and let real connection lead. Engagement sessions are not about perfect posing. They are about creating room for moments that feel like you.
